If anyone has any hints on how to get the above games working, I'd be glad to listen. I will keep an eye on this and retest if they release a new demo, perhaps in several months.
BROTHERS IN ARMS ROAD TO HILL 30 MAC GLITCH CODE
I appreciate Code Weaver making a demo available, but this is one demo that convinced me to stay away from the retail product. You're free to draw your own conclusions, but I was extremely unimpressed. When start game, it asks for the CD to be input, then nothing.

On closing that window (red button) another window opened with a progress bar for installing and the CD made noise. It opened a Mac window, which I let set there for 20 minutes (7:40 to 8:00). Usually, you only see eyes and teeth, which is. Only problem is that most of the leader portraits are missing most parts. Some problems with wide-screen resolutions and a tendency to slow down and stutter now and then– not completely sure what causes this, but it doesn't seem to be related with action or spacious surroundings.Ĭivilization IV (including Beyond the Sword)Įxcellent. No glitches, mostly smooth, slight stuttering when there's a lot of action. The only problem I encountered was that I couldn't create an online account, but I'm not sure if this is COG related. On highest settings and resolution absolutely smooth. Trackmania Nations Forever (which is completely free)įlawless. However: I can report on some games, and the results are rather promising. And maybe I get around to play HL2 Ep1 and 2 now. I actually succumbed and bought COG – the idea of running Guild Wars without rebooting was pretty enthralling. So, can CrossOver be an alternative to BootCamp? Definitely not – at least not for the foreseeable time.ĭoes it live up to Codeweaver's promises? And most of the games tested here were even pretty old or based on quite ageing technologies like the Source enginge – I doubt that any of the popular modern games like CoD 4, The Witcher or Bioshock would run. The rest had problems that were at least ugly, but sometimes jarring enough to make playing those games very unpleasant. Only two of those did not have any glitches. On the other hand, of the 30 games listed here until now, only 13 ran and where (theoretically) playable – controller problems aside. Guild Wars and Silent Hunter III were basically unplayable under the old version, but run pretty well now. Let's start with the positive: sometimes I was impressed how well some games did run and how much CO's compatibility has improved since version 6.2.1 (which is the still available version of CO Office) in some cases. My trial is expiring tomorrow and if I have to see the InstallShield Wizard just one more time in the next weeks, I'm gonna puke.

That was each and every Windows game I could get hold of (most of those came from magazine CDs, in case you are wondering). no – seriously, what do you expect? It doesn't even start. But movies don't play, and the game hangs for a second or so every other moment. Runs well and very smooth – actually better than the Mac version under Rosetta. Rather slow in outdoor areas, though, and ugly glitches on water surfaces. (That's Indigo Propecy for you stateside) I can't even install it: the installer opens that New York quiz, and as soon as this runs, the installer hangs.Įlder Scrolls III: Morrowind (GotY Edition)
